Print, Pack and Post
Case in point.
A company produced statements in varied quantities, from 300 to 12 000, over a period on six months. Whenever they produced these statements they would produce and check the data, which was produced as variable. Then print the statements, sometimes on different company letterheads. After printing they would put together teams who would pack these into envelopes and post.
This resulted in
- Wasted man hours, for example the 12 000 would take between 48 and 60 hours to pack (let alone print).
- Mistakes, because there were so many different people packing the statements little mistakes slipped in and it was very difficult to check and control.
- Core business activities suffered, the reality of it all is the people filling these envelopes should have been producing the billable work (some of these people were worth as much as £90 an hour in billable time).

- We offered a free pick up and delivery service
- We took on the responsibility of arranging the data and then printing the statements
- We organised the envelopes and inserted the statements along with any other
correspondence.
- We arranged postage discounts as appropriate.
All in all, we saved them money in variety of ways.
- The reduced man hours not only saved money, but they earned more money because
these people were able to bill more appropriately.
- It was cheaper for us to print and pack the statements, plus there were able to charge these costs on.
